I am an ex-pat New Zealander (people here always mistake me for british), and I am very articulate.
Physically, I am a larger woman, of diminutive stature , short enough to qualify as a extra for the hobbits in the lord of the rings....
I have previous acting experience both on stage, in film, and on television. I am an artist, I sculpt, paint and silver-smith.
I nursed for 30 years, the last few being in the Cardiothoracic and Vascular field, caring for heart surgery patients... I totally loved my nursing career!
I am not afraid of hard work, or getting my hands dirty. I can multitask with ease, and am very detail orientated.
I work well as a team member and also by myself. I am willing to give almost anything a shot and if I do not know how to do it, I will figure it out. I am quick thinking and very intuitive.
I have in the past, had experience in stage, as lead actress in a comedy. Again as lead supporting actress in a short film produced by university students, and as an extra in local tv productions. Not to mention numerous school plays, musicals etc.. These were all back home in New Zealand. My latest acting part, was here in the states as an extra in a Tyler Perry movie that is due for release Sept. 2009.
I love to create, be it hand crafted artisan jewelry, and new piece of sculpture, or a new painting, and I especially love doing voice over work! It is what grounds me and allows my creativeness to flow... and the more disciplined I am with my work, the more the energy flows, the more the energy flows the better I become.
I like reading, walking, swimming, and the ocean.
I am at a stage in my life, where I am so much more relaxed than I was in my younger years, and I am now in a position where I have time to devote to those things that bring joy, laughter and happiness into my life. Acting is one of these... I want to further my entertainment skills and my acting abilities and the best way I have found, is to get in there and do it!
I liken it a bit like my nursing training, many years past.... where what they teach in the class room is a good basic foundation, but it is not until you are actually out there, hands on, that the learning becomes solidified and one finds what does and does not work in the 'real event'. The learning never stops....
